Temperature

Merry Christmas to all.

I have a X850 Pro card that I have overclocked to 526/540 in 3d only. (
default 500/500 in 2d.) The temperature gets as high as 70 - 71c. in 3d. Is
this too high? What temperature do you consider to be the limit without
damaging the card?
Thanks for your opinion,

PWY

The chip can probably run at 90 C continuously. However, the displayed
temperature is not necessarily accurate. A better way to sense overheating
is to simply check for artifacts. Run the artifact checker in ATiTool to
detect single-pixel artifacts. If you see any, back down the clock speed.

ATI tool shows no artifacts. I stopped at 526/540 due to concern with the
70c reported temperature. I think the card can clock higher but at the
moment I see no reason to try.
Maybe later though.
Thanks for your reply,
PWY
