temp profile/ Cyclical Redundancy Check

Win2K Server
XP computer.

For reason I am logging into a temp profile instead of my normal roaming
profile on the server. At logon, the message states that it can not load the
profile settings and instead will use the temp profile. Can someone
enlighten me on how to correct this problem.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Simon,

Once a profile is corrupt, there is little you can do to save it. Logon as
administrator and create a new account for yourself. Copy the user data over
from the old profile, and you will be fairly well back to where you left
off.

I'm interested in the words you used 'cyclical redundancy check'. I have a
backup program and it currently won't work and its log file says 'data error
(cyclic redundancy check)'. These words are new to me and caught my eye in
your posting.

I'm wondering whether there is some problem that both you and I share which
manifests itself in different ways. To be pedantic, you said 'cyclical' and
my error message says 'cyclic'. I mention this in case it's significant.
