i open C:\WINDOWS\Temp then when i go into any of the
folders such as cookie, history, or temporary internet
files the files are not displayed.. how can i make them
appear to show all the place i have been on the internet
like in previous versions of windows?

Either clear or view from the tools/options menu in
Internet Explorer, or, from the desktop, go to C
drive/documents and settings/ owner/local. You'll find
your files there. If files are not visible at any step,
go to tools/folder options on the menu bar at top of
window, select the view tab and select "show hidden
folders".

On XP, your temp directory is in %userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp

At the command prompt, type

C:\> set

and you will see the location for the Temp/Tmp directory. Note that the
Local Settings folder is a hidden folder.

C:\> cd %Temp%

will change the default directory to your temp folder.

Or you can use My Computer. Open local drive, Documents and Settings, your
logon name, Local Settings.
