Temp file doesn't empty

I have checked the box in the Advanced tab to "delete
files in temporary folder when closing browser" but it
doesn't happen. I've checked & unchecked the box to reset,
but no luck. This used to work in IE5 but won't in IE6. I
can manually delete them but they add up quick if not
deleted automatically & this takes time.
I would appreciate any help to get the feature to work.

there are also "cookies" stored in the temp file.

Does that mean if there are ANY cookies in the folder,
even ones I want, that it will not erase the other files?

Not really. There are pointers to the cookies, which are really stored in
the Cookies folder.

might try using the IE options to delete the contents and any offline content first and then see if it maintains itself there after.
