Technical question

Sure here is the question. I am planning on doing a power point presentation
as Jeopardy scale building. Opening screen has the scale choices, once a
scale choice has been clicked it goes to a screen that has the formula for a
major scale, a beginning note and the spaces for adding the answer plus an
ending note the same as the beggining. The student goes up, chooses a scale
by touching the smart board, writes the scale on the smart board with a
marker. After they write out the scale they can touch the “show the answerâ€
button which will put the correctly written scale underneath the one they
wrote. My question is; if they have written the wrong answer is there a way
to hit a button to go back to the beginning screen that has the choices of
scales on it with the choice they tried reset to not having been answered
correctly so that another team can choose it?
And to forstall any replys about putting a home button on there, I do know
how to do that, or a back button but the thing I can't figure out is how to
reset the square if the kid gets the answer wrong so another group can answer
it. Plus if we have been playing the game long enough other scale squares
will have been chosen so I can't have another jeopardy board square as the
default for wrong answers since other squares will already have been chosen.
And yes this is driving me nuts but if there is no way to do it at least I
can move on! :)

I am unsure if I understand your question, but it sounds like you want to
reset the animations on a slide to their beginning setting. If this is not
the case, please ignore my solution.

Add a new slide immediately before the slide you want to have reset-able.
Set that slides auto-advance timing to 0 seconds
Add a hyperlink on the scale slide to this new slide

PowerPoint animations will reset when you advance into the slide normally,
but not when you revisit it directly or thru backing into it. Therefore
this new slide acts as a feeder to direct the normal flow into the slide
causing it to reset.

Like Bill I'm a bit confused.

Can you explain what has happened to the button so that it cannot be used
again. How has it been deactivated? From your description it would seem that
there is no way of knowing on the first slide whether the student got the
answer correct or not so maybe you need a manual reset button.

It is a bit hard to explain. When playing a jeopardy game when you click on
the first page which is a grid that has a bunch of choices on it, the button
changes color so you know that that choice has been used. What I want that
button to do is to change color when the student touches it and move the
student to the slide they have to write on on the smart board. When they go
to check their answer they hit another button on the slide they are working
on and the correct answer pops up. If they got the right answer they would
just have to hit the home button and they would be redirected to the first
slide ( that had all the choices on it), if they were wrong they hit another
button that goes to the first slide (that had all the choices on it) and I
want the very first button they hit to go back to looking like it hadn't been
clicked on before so another student can choose to try and answer it. Plus
if another person has already chosen other buttons on that first page they
should be a different color showing that they have been used.

Explain this manual reset button to me a little. Could I embed it in the
wrong answer button that sends the student back to the first screen? And it
would just reset that one button out of the multiple buttons on the first
screen?

If you go to ouir game creation page here
http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/games.html

and then > Blockbuster and download the free sample game you will see that
you choose a letter > go to the question page > answer and then you get three
buttons (one for each team and a no right answer) press these to get
different results.

It's a little complicated to explain how this works but hopefully you can
study the animations and work it out. Hopefully your problem is similar.
