I want to install "teamed" network cards into a PC. By this I mean having
two network cards sharing an IP address and thus providing redundancy.
Redundancy is the primary reason for wanting to do this. However, an added
advantage is that the two cards can share the load when both are healthy.
I have not used teamed network cards before and would be interested in some
basic information (manufacturers sites provide little detail): -
Is the teaming functionality a feature of the card hardware or a feature of
the driver? (or even a feature of Windows 2000)
Can the teaming functionality be provided by any network cards or is it a
specialist feature provided by only a few manufacturers? (if applicable,
which manufacturers?)
Thank you.
