Does anyone know how to delete a taueq.exe that has been
downloaded into a windows XP. Ican't get rid of it.

Hi

Have you virus-checked your system with the latest definitions for your AV
program and checked for any spyware that may be on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Hi,

That's because it's a trojan and doesn't want to be removed. Restart the
system in Safe mode by hitting F8 at bootup. Delete that file from the
system (start/search/files) and the reference that loads it from the system
registry. You will likely find it under one of these keys (start/run
regedit):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg
