This one is definitely worth a look as an Alt-Tab task switcher replacement.
It is MUCH more advanced than the Windows Powertoy.

TaskSwitchXP displays a list of running apps, and as you scroll, a thumbnail
image of the window appears. Highly configurable.

You can alphabetize the tasks, select tasks by number. Be sure and read the
"Shortcuts" part of the documentation!

There is also an interesting "sticky" mode that you might want to try. You
press Alt-Tab, and the window stays up until you press Enter to select an
window, or Esc to clear the window. That takes a bit of getting used to,
but ultimately you may decide it's a better way to go.

There is also a support forum, where I will soon be posting my feature
requests!

Interesting site. Btw, TaskSwitchXP is XP or better. Also at ntwind.com:

"WinSnap is a small enhancement utility for taking and editing
screenshots." The added value here is it'll convert, rotate, frame,
render in grayscale, etc (beta, win2k or xp)

thx Spoon,

I forgot to mention -

TaskSwitchXP lets you switch to open Properties windows and dialog boxes!
The standard WinXP task switcher won't let you do that. Now there's a big
reason right there to give TaskSwitchXP a try. It's always been a pain when
I've had a dialog box hidden behind a bunch of other windows, with no way to
access it either by Taskbar or by Alt-Tab. The only way to find it was to
minimize windows one at a time until it was uncovered.

Wow, that is nice work. Like the sticky function. Even minimizes
apps to the tray. Watch out for the hotkeys for that function
though - they're *global*! I just lost my z and v to them; had to
rescue them back.

Thanks much,
p.
