tasknmgr.exe - what is it, what does it do?

Hi All,

I've been searching the net (well, google at least) and
no one seems to have an answer. Running Windows XP SP1
and found a lot of network traffic occuring. Checked out
Norton Personal Firewall stats and came up with this
executable - tasknmgr.exe (c:\windows\system32) running
and connecting to a dubious site that i've never been to
(via a dynamic dns host).

Has anyone seen this before, or know what tasknmgr.exe
is? I'm running NPF and NAV - both fully updated. Also
have run Ad-Aware 6.

Thanks for your time!

andrew,

All I can say is that it's not a valid Windows file (i.e.
it's not part of the operating system). Which leads me
to think it may be something untoward.

The fact that it's been named like taskman.exe (which is
a valid app).

I take it AdAware isnt picking it up? Have you down
where it is on the system, and if it's running from the
registry at startup?
