Hi,

I am in the middle of battling a number of viruses on a PC but one
issue has me stumped and I can't find it highlighted anywhere.

Originally taskmanager was diabled but I got around that via the
registry however now taskmgr has all the processes greyed out and I
cannot kill any processes.

I will probably use taskkil to overcome this but has anyone seen this
behaviour before and know how to fix it?

This even occurs in safe mode where I have a couple of rogue iexplore
running that need killing prior to running fixes.

Sounds like you will need to use HJThis.
Important: Create a specific folder on your hard drive called
HijackThis to keep its backups.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double
click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it
HijackThis. Download and unzip HijackThis.exe into this folder.

If possible run HJT in Normal mode ( not Safe ) with all your normal
startup's working.

Thanks but like I said I have already reenabled it in the registry an
do have it running. What I can't figure out is why I cannot stop an
processes using it. All of the process list is greyed out but thi
doesnt stop me selecting processing however when i try to kill them
get the message access denied.

AVG resident also gets access denied when trying to clear sku16.dl
from the run stack
