Taskbar settings not changed

B

bill

Every time I start my PC, I have to unlock the taskbar,
resize the quick launch, Rearrnage the quick luanch icons
to where I want them and close the search toolbar. When
I close down my PC the settings are lost and next time I
turn it on I have to do the same again. Very annoying.
Can anyone help?

Hi Bill,

Try this fix:

Thanks Ramesh

Worked fine for that session but reverted to previous
settings on log off and log on again.

Any other ideas?

Bill

Bill,

This behavior is often caused by malware. Blazefind or other modifies the userinit string in the registry, and this is one example. Try all these spyware cleaners and run 164 again.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
SpyBot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder : http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

Lavasoft has released a VX2 Removal Plugin and make use of that also.
