Taskbar item order

If I have several tasks running is there a way to re-order the taskbar
items?

In other words, if I want the second item in the taskbar to be the first,
and the first item to be last, is there a way to re-order them without
having to exit and re start them in the order I wish them listed?

You can view them in ascending or descending alphabetical order, cpu, memory,
etc.
Click the headers.
