taskbar history

Some programs show a icon on the lower right corner of the taskbar, the showing of it can be assigned "always show""Hide when inactive""Always hide". In the Customize Notifications window, the history of those icons is kept as Past items. After I uninstall a certain program, It is still there. How to remove them?

To clear the Past Items list, perform the following
steps:

Delete the IconStreams and PastIconsStream values from
the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Explorer\TrayNotify

Open Task Manager, click the Processes tab, click
Explorer.exe, and then click End Process.
In Task Manager, click File, click New Task, type
explorer, and then click OK.
