Taskbar and quick launch

Maria Dulce

I had some adware and spyware intruders that altered the
taskbar by launching blazefind search assistant in tasbar
on startup. I maneged to clean the PC with Spyferret and
Ad-aware 6, but now can't save neither taskbar nor quick
launch cutomized settings. How can I repair this?

Ramesh I have had exactly the same problem as Dulce (spyware removed
and now quick launch won't stay after a re-boot). Please can you let
me know how to fix this.

Many thanks

Many thanks

I actually ended up changing:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
from: "C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater,"
to: "C:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe,"

Any idea what wsaupdater is? Should I delete it?

wsaupdater is the root cause of all the problems. Delete it.
