Taskbar and clock adjustments

Today after my daughter used the computer I noticed that
my desktop taskbar suddenly looked different. It was no
longer a single line across the bottom, but a thicker
double row. I suspect it was because the clock had also
changed from simply displaying the time to stacking the
time plus day of week and date as well. But when I tried
everything I could think of and couldn't find a way to
change the time/date, I finally gave up and had to
restore to an earlier date.

What WAS the solution to my problem? How do you
customize the taskbar time so that you can have time
only, or date and day of week also?

Thank you.

It's actually the other way around. It displayed the day of week
and date because it was two lines high.

The taskbar is effectively a window, much like other windows. To
change its size, simply grab its edge (let the cursor change to a
two-headed arrow) and drag it to the size you want.

If it's locked, you can't do this, and may have to unlock it
first. To do so, rightclick on a blank part of it, and uncheck
"Lock the taskbar."

By changing its size, as I said above. Or by using a third-party
program. I like and use one called tclock.exe (*not*
tclockex.exe, a similar, but not as good, in my opinion, program)
which lets you do this and several other useful things.
