I am looking for a simple program which will run in the background and
start an .exe file at specified times.

The one I am currently using seems to give up after a couple of tries.

Any suggestions please?

What OS are you using? I am using Windows XP, and I am able to start an .exe
file at specified times by using the "Schedule Tasks" in the Control Panel.

You are probably looking for a simple 'reminder' program with the
ability to run a program as a 'reminder'

I've not tried it and know nothing about it; if you try it and it

Ricolmer is a nice and intuitive task manager. I use it for weekly data backup, register clean up,
