task scheduler not operating

I can't get my task scheduler to work. Every program I
set up thru the schedule wizard says can't start or wrong
password..I am system administrator and I set up
passwords..I've done everything the sked wiz sez to do
and even what xp for dummies sez to do step by step..any
ideas?? is there an embedded password I don't know about
that has to be deleted? I've been trying to get this
thing to work for a year now off and on..after a few
times I give up again for a while and try later...am sure
it is something simple..perhaps cuz I upgraded from
WindowsME?? heeeellllppp.... thanks.
