Task Scheduler Error - one of four tasks doesn't run

Hello. I have four tasks scheduled. All of them run as scheduled except one.
The task scheduler window indicates it has run as scheduled but the program
hasn't started. It has run in the past on other computers in the house but
not on the laptop.

What might prevent a program from running?
 
My AV software which is scheduled to
run every day failed to run at the scheduled
time. This failure occurred after installing an
update to the AV software.

The fix in my case was to delete the scheduled
task and create a new one.

- What exactly are the tasks?
- What makes you think one of them failed to start?
- What does the Task Scheduler log file report?

It's an program for daily reading and it worked at one time. Since I wiped
the hard drive, restored the factory settings and reinstalled all programs it
does not work. The reason for the wipe was slow performance. This is the only
odd thing that happened upon restore.
