Task Scheduler does not end

See similar post on 7/8/03. Have an executable that ftp's a file, then updates tables on an Access 97 database. It opens up and stays in a "running" state until you click anywhere on the window. Then it actually begins the process. No responses are required. .Exe runs fine from command line and from MKS Toolkit scheduler.
