Task Scheduler Accessing Internet

I'm running Windows 2000 with a firewall. I'm not on a
network (personal private computer).

I have no Tasks entered under the Task Scheduler - yet it
continually tries to access the intenet. If I block it -
my internet connection freezes up.

Is there a way I can disable this program from wanting to
access the internet? Is there any harm (security wise) in
letting this program access the internet?

Thanks for your help.

What makes you think that the Task Scheduler is trying
to access the Internet?

You are correct, MSTASK.EXE is 'listening'. To confirm
this run ActivePorts (www.ntutility.com). In your firewall,
block incoming TCP to its local port, 1026.

I get a pop up box that says it's trying to access the internet (Allow or Block)
.
