Turned on the computer one morning this week to discover the task pad at the
right of the calendar is blank. Check boxes present. I can still enter a new
task. Task pad is ok when I display only the task pad. But just a white
empty block next to the calendar. I tried doing an Office repair today -- no
change. Submitted help request to Microsoft earlier this week - no response.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

You've just taken most fields (columns) out of the TaskPad. Put them back:

Right click the column headers of the TaskPad, use the Field Chooser to drag
subject, due date etc back onto the TaskPad's header line.

I get the "circle with a line through it" symbol when I try to drag from the
Field Chooser. Any advice?

I see the circle while the column header is held over the Calendar, but once
I get it to the TaskPad area I see red arrows that tell me it's OK to drop
it there.

Let's check that you're doing it properly:

Turn the TaskPad on (2003) through View TaskPad.

Right click column header of TaskPad (eg on the work TaskPad) select Field
Chooser. With your left mouse button drag the field Start Date onto the
TaskPad and let it go beside the TaskPad word - exactly beside it on the
same row of column headers.

Practice in the Tasks folder where the table is much bigger, then go do it
on the TaskPad.

Thanks for the specific instructions. I was dragging the item into the blank
area of the task pad rather than up to the exact place it needed to be.
Thanks a bunch Judy!

You're welcome! It's good practice for me as a trainer to have to give very
explicit instructions here!
