Is it me or I don't see you're answer Doug ?

I'm asking that because I have almost the same problem, when I click control/alt/del, I don't have access to the task manager, end session and stop computer, I don't have anymore the stop computer button option on my start menu (had a great spyware).

If I click on my task bar I do have acces to the taks manager (thanks stef) but I would want to have all my setting back.

thanks

Since you started a new thread here............. I don't know.

What does happen when you press CTRL-ALT-DEL?

For the Shutdown button, click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Look in the right pane for a value called NoClose. If it exists, double click this value and set it to 0 (zero). If it doesn't exist, right click in a blank area of the right pane, select New, DWord value, name it NoClose and leave it at 0. Log off/log on or reboot to see the change.

You can run the Logoff or Shutdown command line utilities from a Command Prompt window, if needed.
