the task manager just flashes and dissappears right away
when i hit ctrl alt del, and same thing happens when i
try to run regedit program! i don't have a virus either
i've checked that one out!

Are you absolutely sure you don't have a virus - some viruses actually
disable Anti Virus software:-

There is a script that will assist here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
See line #261 (right hand side)

You are most likely infected with one of these worms:
W32.Spybot.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.spybot.worm.html
W32.Klez.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]
W32.Yaha.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]

i don't seem to have those viruses mention i've did
everything that they have said to do and can't find them
at all but i do have a couple of programs running that
i'm unsure of: aeagea and stdstudio.exe

If it's not a virus, it's a little hard to figure out (at least for me).
What about spyware:
www.lavasoftusa.com Ad-Aware
www.security.kolla.de Spybot

I'm not familiar with aeagea or stdstudio.exe - perhaps these links have
something:-
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm#THE_PROGRAMS
All about disabling programs at startup and
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm

Why not try Doug's site (xp_emergencyutil.exeCreates usable copies of
REGEDIT, MSCONFIG and Task Manger:-
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_emerutils.htm
You'll should then be able to use those copies of the files to check your
registry etc.

Good luck.

well all in all when i disable the aeagea.exe in the
msconfig and delete them from the system32 folder it
seems to quite and i can access the programs but at
startup it asks me to open a file as if it were dowloaded
already thats all that i have to get rid of i'm going to
try to delete the registry entries and hopefully that
will work! thanks for the help!

Be interesting to know what aeagea.exe is?
Hopefully everything works okay for you now.
