Task manager issue

San

Hello,
When I try to open my Task Manager with right click on Task Manager or by
using Ctr+Alt+Del, the task manager window just flashes for a second and then
disappears. It does not stay so that I can see what programs are running.
Just wondering whether any spyware or virus is affecting this performance?
Any suggestions, how can I restore this?

I have a windows XP system and I update my computer very frequently.
Recently I also observed that sometime internet explorer automatically opens
a window - Brontock.com (green colour webpage). Is that any virus symptom?

You have a virus.

Why does Task Manager, MSCONFIG, or REGEDIT disappear while opening?
