Task Manage/Registry Problem

I have a file running in my process tree called COMANTI.exe. I believe this
is causing my computer to lose memory and I don't know what it is associated
with. I have found a file by that name in the Windows INF file and deleted
it; however, when I deleted it from the registry line it keeps coming back
and calling it *COMANTI.exe rerun. This is very strange can someone please
tell me how to get rid of this file for good? What is the * for before the
file name in the registry editor? Has anyone even heard of this file? I did
a search on it and nothing came up.

Thanks!

Hi,

Method 2: (This will just narrow down the problem)
========
Disable all the third-party services and all the startup programs to see if
the problem still exists.

a. Click Start, Run, type "msconfig" and press Enter.
b. Click the System.ini tab and click the "Disable All" Button.
c. Click the Win.ini tab and click the "Disable All" Button.
d. Click the Services tab, click to select the "Hide All Microsoft
Services" and click the "Disable All" Button.
e. Click the Startup tab and click the "Disable All" Button.
f. Click OK.

Reboot your computer to see if the problem still exists. If it does not
exists then it's either in "win.ini" or "system.ini" or as a service in
your system. In Win.ini, System.ini, Autoexec.bat, and Config.sys to see
what all is loading there (in win.ini, look at LOAD= and RUN= lines. In the
others, you will simply see command lines. The Autoexec.bat and Config.sys
files in a clean installation are usually empty, as are the Load and Run
lines in Win.ini. You can probably disable these first two completely, and
uncheck the Load & Run lines for testing purposes. If you find yourself
unable to restart after disabling items, just boot into Safe Mode and
re-enable them.

Hope this helps ...... :)
