Task customized view trouble

I want to be able to see my tasks in a calendar format, not as a sidebar to
the calendar as in taskpad. I figured out how to do this by setting a custom
view (View menu>arrange by>current view>define views>new) as day/week/month
for tasks, which lets me see my tasks in a calendar style setup. But I can
only see it by the month view and week view, not by the day view. For some
reason, the Day button on the toolbar is greyed out as well as that option in
the view menu. Can anyone tell me how to solve this?

There is no such view available - it's greyed out here too.

The TaskPad can show you each day's Tasks. Use start and due date, set it to
Active Tasks for selected days.

It's probably grayed out because task dates have no specific times associated with them, so only the week and month views make sense with that data. Outlook 2007 is closer to what you want -- putting tasks on the calendar view automatically.
