Task Categories in Outlook 2003

I've created a view by category from my task list. Is there a way to display
a drop down list to select category vs. having to open the item? The status
and due date field have drop downs.
 
That dropdown isn't possible. In Outlook07 there's the new list of the last
used categories (up to 15): right_click on the item, choose Categorize.

With Category Manager you can filter your list of categories and have them
always on top of the screen as soon as an Outlook window becomes active.
