Task bar: windows not shown as needed

Hi,

I want to be able to see all the windows I have opened, one besides the
other one. Even if I uncheck "group similar taskbar buttons", it is
impossible to have them in the way I want. Instead, they appear grouped
together, which requires to scroll down or up each time I want to go to one
of my opened windows.
This bothers me a lot!! Any idea?

Thank you!

Hi,
You didn't mention what Browser or Version are you using?.
If you are using the IE7 and select in the setting the new window to open in
a new Tab instead of new Window then the you will see the tabs beside each
other on the top of the Page not on your taskbar, am I right?.
If the above not correct please write back with the Operating Version and
the Browser Version.

Rightclick the taskbar, and uncheck the item for "Lock the Taskbar", then
make the group setting you prefer.

Hi,

Thank you for answering. I am usin Windows XP home edition. Is this what you
asked? I am sorry but I do not know what IE7 is...

Hi Tunette,
I'm sorry to I should write in letters instead of Abbreviation, anyway, Do
you have Internet Explorer Version 7 or Internet Explorer 6 or FireFox as a
browser the one you open a web page from.
Also does this behaviour occurred before or just recently, if recently did
you install any Software, hardware.
If you want to know the version of your Browser, when you are on the
Internet Click on Help then select About and it will tell you the IE Version.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\TaskbarGroupSize
[REG_DWORD] 2 will enable GroupSize automatically if you have two or more
similar window, 3 will enable when you have 3,etc. (so put in 20, or whatever)

Thanks again, Nass. I was silly not to realize what you were asking! Sorry!
I have Internet explorer 6. I haven't installed any software, but this
problem began just after one automatic security update of Windows...

Hi,
Try Mark Registry Fix, but backup this key first, then if still no joy try
to Restore before the update took place and see if that will help.
Can you tell us the update number KB89.... .

I think it might have been KB 911927, 913446, 911564, and/or 9011190. They
were installed the same day.
Thanks again.
