task bar trouble deleting

RustyM

Hi- I was wondering if I can delete certain items in the task bar-See...when
I go to the 'appearances & themes' section>then select task bar>customize, I
see programs on there that I do not want to see, do not use, and just
clutter my task bar on the bottom- How can I permanetly delete them from
there so that I dont have the clutter on my task bar but also do not have
them listed there at ALL-most of them are under hide when inactive but I
simply want them out- I believe that I even deleted some of them and no
longer have them in my programs-thanks

Are you talking about the Taskbar or the notification area, the area to the
left of the clock?

Those are placed their by applications you have installed. You need to find
out to which application they belong, then check the application option for
an option "Not to start when Windows boots" or something similar. You can
hover your mouse over the icon or try right clicking or double clicking the
icon to open the app. Hovering, may give you the name of the application
which, if you cannot start from the "Notification" area, you can find on the
Start Menu, open and they find the appropriate option.
