Task Bar Question

I hope this is the appropriate group for this. If not, please let me know.

I usually have several programs running in my Task Bar. When I click twice
(not double-clidk) on a given program to switch to it, it seems to rotate
between that application and the one selected immediately prior to that.
Also, if the application I chose happened to have an error message displayed,
the message window appears, but the main window of the application does not
unless I click on the button several times (sometimes as often as 3 or 4
times).

I have never noticed this before the last few weeks and it only seems to be
a problem on one of the XP Pro machines I use. I have don't know what
software updates have been done because they are controlled by our IT
department.

Is there a way to stop this? I have checked the XP Powertoys, but cannot
see anything there.

Thanks.

Check the "Focus" settings in TweakUI > General.

Thanks for the feedback. If I am understanding the Focus setting, it applies
to applications that are starting. My problem is with applications that are
already running.
