On the Windows Task Bar ... when I have multiple Word documents open, I'd
like to see all of them on the task bar ... spread out horizontally. How do
I set that up instead of the vertical tower of word documents.
Thanks.

Right click your taskbar and select Properties, next un-chech "Group
similar taskbar buttons".

Best regards

Bjorn,
Thanks for the response but unfortunately, that isn't one of the choices in
the properties of the taskbar.

All that I have is:
Always on top
Auto hide
Show small icons in Start menu
Show clock
Use Personalized Menus

And ... there's an advanced tab, but I don't see that option in the list of
items there either. Any other thoughts? Diana

Then you are running Win2000. My answer was for WinXP, as this is the only
Windows version, that I am aware of, that stacks icons on top of each other
in this way.

Does this only occur with Word, or does the same thing happen with Internet
Explorer icons? What version of Word (or Office) are you using?

Best regards

Bjorn

Thanks Bjorn,
The name of this newsgroup is Windows 2000, so I hope I'm posting to the
right group. And yes ... I'm running Windows 2000 and the Office version is
2002 (XP). Yes, other icons are also stacking ... not just Word.

Yes, this is the correct newsgroup for Win2000 questions. I did however
presume that you where running WinXP, as this feature is only available
there, not in Win2000.

This MS Knowledge Base article describes how it is supposed to work, and
that only WinXP has the stacking feature:

Could your installation be altered in any way, by a third party utility?

Bjorn, Bjorn, Bjorn ..... yesssssssssss .... that link had the answer. Thank
you so much.
Now ... for you or anyone else that reads this ... the answer is: In Word
or Excel, click tool, options, "view", click "Windows in Taskbar" to enable
it, which makes each document display on the taskbar rather than stacking
them.

I don't know how you found the article, but it contained the answer, which I
found. Thanks again.
