Task Bar Issues

Hi everyone.

I have come across this very annoying problem. I am not really sure why it
is happening. I was trying to take a note and find a cause but unsuccessful.

After i reboot my comp with win XP pro my taskbar has several instances of
any window that i open.

So i launch Internet explorer i see two tabs instead of one. After i
unchecked lock taskbar i saw that taskbar has several vertical lines on it.
One of them controls quick launch and one of them controls language bar
position. Besides these two i have another two that just sit there . Once in
a while one of the two extra dividers is disappearing and it's only one
left, and between that bar and language bar my open programs show up.

But distance between quick launch and open programs a huge gap and i can not
move them closer to quick launch.

Any suggestion ?

Thank you very much for your help

Regards

Alex

Have you tried turning off Quick Launch, turning it back on and starting
over? In other words, you would be starting Quick Launch with a clean slate
when you turn off Quick Launch and turn it back on. Right click Start,
select Properties, go to the Taskbar tab, remove the check from "Show Quick
Launch," click apply and ok. Make sure Quick Launch is turned off, then
turn it back on and start over, adding your shortcuts.

Just one other point. When you place shortcuts on the Quick Launch taskbar,
if you are dragging them to the taskbar, right click drag and then select
copy instead of move. Afterward, if you don't want the shortcut on the
desktop, just delete it. There's a bug in the taskbar that sometimes causes
a moved shortcut to duplicate itself on the taskbar, thereby creating more
than one shortcut to the same application.
