Task bar is double wide (tall?)

Hi, I've searched the archives and can't find the answer to this problem.
After my 8 year old grandson used the computer, my task bar (which I have at
the bottom of the screeen always showing over any windows) is twice as high
as it used to be. If I try to drag it down, it will go all the way off the
screen, and I can drag it back up, but it won't go back to it's original,
about one half inch high. It interferes with certain things now and I'd sure
like it back the way it was. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Pam

What happens is that the end "margin" of the QuickLaunch toolbar has
gotten so far over to the right that it is now down below. Unlock the
Taskbar and then "grab" the dotted line on the bottom bar and drag it
up to immediately to the right of the QuickLaunch icons. Now you've
successfully made the QuickLaunch toolbar shorter and can "grab" the
top bar of the Taskbar and "push" it down to the regular one-tier
height.

You will have to unlock it by right clicking on it then remove any toolbars
that have been added then you should be able to drag it down a notch then
add the toolbars you want then lock it back.
