Task bar has duplicate button to do same thing?

I have had the task bar vanish. After bring told it was
gone by Sony, it showed up again. My task buttons vanished
and I could not see or use them. When the task bar
returned (from vacation I guess??!!??) the buttons have
returned as well. Problem is that they are identical
twins. I get one on the left near the Start button and
another on the right.. to the right of the timclock area.
Please help me merge the split identities and create one as
a whole that works. Thanks in advance. (Yes I an quite
stressed about this ... thus, the tries at humor.)

Jean,

Are the two sets of task buttons totally identical? If you pick one pair as an
example (one identical button each in both places), and right click on each
member of the pair in turn, what menu do you get?

Or is it possible that one set is the Quick Launch bar (icons to start various
tasks), and the other the Tooltray (icons representing tasks already started)?

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
