Target file for Windows Feedback Platform could not be parsed ???

I am running Vista Ultimate ver 6000 and frequently it crashes and the event
viewer tells me the Source is WerSvc with Event ID 5007. The message i get
is:-

"The target file for the Windows Feedback Platform (a DLL file containing
the list of problems on this computer that require additional data
collection for diagnosis) could not be parsed. The error code was 8013FFF9"

Since I cannot find anything at MS for Event ID 5007 can anyone please offer
advice on how to fix this problem?

Many thanks for your very useful response.

I followed the thread you suggested and am delighted to report that I have
followed that advice and fixed my problem.

Thanks again.

Glad to hear it all worked out. I guess we all should thank Jimmy Brush who
rapidly analyzed this problem and found a solution.
Probably, most people don't even notice this error. I think that looking
into the logs isn't that common.
Does anybody know what this error really means, and what later problems it
could cause (if any)?

Clicking the link does not seem to work for me. I have also registered on
this site. It says the thread number is invalid. Could you post the essence
of what is said in this thread?

I have also checked if I am a 'participant' in the 'Feedback Platform' in
the control panel, but I am not. Will this make a differfence in the
proposed 'fix'.

I should also have noted that I don't have KB931174 installed according to
the update log. Should I ?
