Takes 2mins for Explorer windows to open, help!

Hi

I've been having the most annoying problem with Windows and
the Internet Explorer for the past few weeks. Everytime I
try to open up any Windows program or folder, it takes
exactly 1 minute and 53 seconds for it to open up
everytime. And the 'Windows Explorer,'Run', and 'Find'
features in the start menu won't open up at all! As for
the others, it's not like they slowly materialize over two
minutes, nothing at all happens for almost 2 minutes, no
hourglass or nothing, and then it'll pop up like normal.
Same thing happens when I use the Internet Explorer
(version 6.0) since it's a Microsoft Windows program as
well. It takes 2 minutes to go from one webpage to
another, which totally defeats the purpose of having a DSL
connection! All the other programs open up normally,
Netscape works fine for browsing the internet. But it's
definitely making it hard to do anything significant on my
computer. Any advice or information is so greatly
appreciated, I'm totally clueless as to what to do!

could be virus/spyware problem. likely the easiest thing
to do is run adaware/antivirus/ or completely reinstall
windows after formatting the drive.
