Hi,

Is it possible to take screenshots while installing Windows XP. If yes,
how? :-)

Thx,

Matthias

The installer is in control during the install. Use a digital camera to
photograph the screen.

Not normally, but ... if you have a video card with a TV output,
those are usually "on" all the time, so you could concievably
tape the install on a VCR, right from the boot up screen onward.
Actually, I should say "can", not concievably, because that's
how I did it <g>. Then I editted the video, added a voice-over,
and got a pretty decent video presentation for it. NVIDIA
GEForce 5200 (old) card.

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard (iow, into RAM). To view the screen capture, open a
graphics program, such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will
paste the contents of the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open
file, and allow you to view it or save it as a file for later use.

In Windows98* there used to be a "Clipboard Viewer". Is there no such
thing in XP?

Yes, there is. Start > Run > Clipbrd.exe.

This works "during" the Windows install procedure?

No, it doesn't. I missed the "during installation" condition. My
apologies to the OP and my thanks for correcting my mistake.
