Table Styles

I am setting up a template and I need to create a couple of table styles. I
went into table autoformat and created 2 new table styles. One of the tables
I have a font size 12, the other I have a font size 9. Hoever, when I go to
my style dropdown list and choose the new table style I get the dialog box
that asks me how many columns and rows, I indicate this and am presented with
a new table. The font in the table is body text 12 in the table that I set
the font to be 9. Even when I go to the Format, Styles and Formatting and
click on the style I created, it does say that the font should be 9.

How would I create this table style so that when I clicked in the table the
font would be 9 or whatever I want. I am using Word 2003.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Dee,

Basic rule is: start with an empty paragraph and make sure you format it with
the NORMAL style. Then create your table and apply the table style. The table's
font settings usually only show up if applied to paragraphs formatted as
"normal". Other paragraph and character styles take precedence over the table's
font settings.
