Table of Exhibits

We are working on a document that is 2 column. To make the exhibit headers
go across the entire page without using section breaks we are using text
boxes. Why are we losing our info when we update the Table of Exhibits if we
do this. If we don't use the text boxes, everything is fine. The moment we
put the titles into a text box the table gets all screwed up???
 
Try using a frame instead of a text box.

Thank you, but when I try to add a frame to my document the tool bar is
greyed out and doesn't allow it???
