Table of Contents that covers several files

I have a project that will be split across many files. I wish to have a
master document that will have a table of contents that covers all of the
files, so when selecting an item on the TOC, it opens the applicable file and
hopefully at the correct page as well.

Am I wishing for the stars?
Should I use another application?

Unfortunately the project is going out on Friday!
The usual great forward planning by the engineering dept!

Many thanks, I am now able to create TOC from several files.

But there are no links in this TOC, I would like the functionality where the
TOC is clickable to open whichever file required from this new TOC.
