Fill-in Form General Questions

1. One of my forms has a table with a date field. The date field has a
defaulf value of 01/01/01 to show the format that I want them to use. When
the user enters the date word puts it in BOLD and I cannot figure out why.

2. The same table has a column that contains 2 values (on, off). I would
like to be able to sort on that column as a permanent feature of the table or
after a user has entered a new row.

The table is in a protected section of the form.

Thanks

Check if bold formatting has been applied to the form field. If not, perhaps
the regular variety of the font that you are using has been damaged, so that
it substitutes the bold one? Try reinstalling the font.

You had better ask in a programming newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.word.vba.general for assistance with this question.

1. Can't figure out how to check if the bold formatting has been applied
to
the form field.

Unprotect the document, and then place the insertion point in the form
field. Then you should be able to see if bold formatting, or a style
including the bold attribute, has been applied to the field. Note that you
can use Ctrl+SpaceBar to clear any direct font formatting from the
selection.
2. The font works ok in other sections of the form. But how do I reinstall
it if I need to

Since the font is working in other parts of the form, it seems unlikely that
it is damaged.

Generally, to install a font, you can use Install New Font on the File menu
of the Fonts folder (at least, that is how it is done in Windows XP). But
for fonts added by an application or an operating system, use the
installation disk(s). To see which Microsoft application has a certain font,
see http://www.microsoft.com/typography/default.mspx.
