Table field parameters not reflected in Data Access Page, Query, Report, etc.

Just getting started with Access 2K. I've created a table that has a
Date/Time field. I've set the field format as Medium Time which shoud
return a value, as an example, of 9:00 AM. Works fine in the table but
shows up in the Data Access Page (created from the table) as 9:00:00 AM
which is Long Time format. All this is as viewed on system with IE 6.0,
not uploaded to the Internet. Any help appreciated.

Along the same lines, a Date field (Date/Time) is formatted to show up
as 00/00/00 using an Input Mask. Instead it shows up as 00/00/0000 in
both the table and the DAP. Here is how the Input Mask shows up in the
Design View Field Properties for that field: 00/00/00;0; Any way I can
get it to show up as a Short Date?

Each display or output location must be formated to suit your needs. Access
does not store formatting in the table like Excel does.

Just set the Format property of the DAP textbox to the desired format.
The Table format isn't (as you have seen) propagated to every other
place the field might be displayed.

Just FWIW, the date is stored as a number; the format controls how
that number is displayed but isn't actually part of the field.

Thanks for the reply. Your advise seems to work for all except Data
Access Page. There is no option within the object:properties for the
field to format the Date/Time field. It only displays in Long Time. Any
suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to find any way to format the DAP
textbox for Short Time. When I call up the object:properties windows
none of the available tabs seem to have an option to format the field
for Date/Time including the Format tab. None of the visible parameters
appear to be a number. Am I missing something simple?

Try using a Format property of "hh:nn"
