I am using 2000 XP.

I have quite a few different databases with several tables
each. I noticed that in some of the tables the Unicode
Compression is "No" and in others it is "Yes".

Should they all be the same? I have all of these tables
linked to other databases and do a number of searches.
Does the Unicode Compression "Yes" or "No" help speed up
searches?

All help is appreciated

Unicode compression is a way for ACCESS to conserve storage space...for
characters that don't use the extra bits of unicode character set, ACCESS
drops off those bits so that the memory use is 1/2 of what it would be
otherwise. It should not have any major effect on performance, nor am I
aware that fields being joined via queries need to have the same setting.

At times, having the compression turned on for memo fields can cause some
strange results in Totals queries when memo field is being used in a Group
By field.
