Table design in masterpage/ PowerPoint 2007 for win/PC

When you design your own template/master pages you can insert a table, so
that when you selcet that layout you just have to enter a numer for row and
collum - works well.

Queston: how to design a custom table - it looks like is uses the default,
how can you specify font type/size and the table colour background and
outlines

You can't. Not really. You could create a specific slide layout that has a
content placeholder with the appropriate font size. You might even be able
to give that placeholder a fill color and border as kind of a cheat to get
started, but it's really not going to do the trick.

Only thing I really know to tell you is to create sample slides with tables
and tell your users to use those. Frustrating, I know. Wish I had a better
answer for you. (I was actually just complaining about this very thing on
the PPT 2010 beta newsgroups not two days ago.)

One of the things we have been doing as we develop Themes for our various
internal groups is choosing the color that we would like the table to be and
making sure that it is the first accent color in our color palette.

We figured out early on that the default table uses the first Accent color
from the color palette so as we develop new Themes for our various internal
groups, we decide which color we would like the tables to be and make that
the first Accent color.

It does always choose the same style (second row "Medium") and doesn't help
much if you want to deviate from that...but at least we have some control
over the color. :)

Sorry... I started writing a response and didn't like how it was sounding so
I started over and forgot to erase the first attempt!

Thanks, no wonder I could not make it work.
It would be nice if Office 14 could give you more control so it would be
easyer to maintain client visual identity.

Pretty sure it's not going to happen in Office 14, but I hope it will in
versions after that.
