table column width changes

How do I get the width of a column in a Word table to stay the same size
when I paste in a lengthy URL (i.e., a URL that is longer than the column is
wide)?

I have Word 2002 SP-2.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Abbi,

Either "Table > AutoFit > Fixed column size" or "Table > Table Properties >
Options", uncheck "Automatically resize to fit contents".
It's really the same setting.
