Tab to next first field of next row in Excel?

Colin

Please advise if there is a way, when the last column of a row has
been filled, to tab down to the first cell on the next row?

This is to aid data input with similar information on many rows.

Cheers

If you use tab to move, press enter in the last column will move to the
first column where you used tab the first time, i.e.
You start in C2, type in data and use the tab to move to L2, instead of
tabbing out of L2 press enter and it
will take you to C3. If you always want to go to the first column regardless
where you started use the home button and the down-arrow

No not on expanding data (a list) but tab through the
fields to the last and the press enter - and this will
take you to the next row.

If you are using the same sheet every day format the cells
you want to change and unlock them (on the protection tab)
then protect the sheet - do not give it a password unless
you are sure.

you can then tab through the unlocked cells in that sheet
or press enter to move down one row at a time.

Use of protected locked cells as Peter mentioned.
Format, Cells, Protection, unlocked
Tools, Protection, protect sheet

Cells are locked by default but not effective until the
sheet is protected.

Another technique would be an Event macro which would
apply only to the one worksheet, protecting and locking cells
is not necessary as it can all be controlled from the macro.

Hi Colin
Dependent upon any other movement you may require within the sheet, another
method would be to set the Scroll Area for the sheet.
Right click on the Sheet tab
Choose View Code
Press F4 if the sheet properties window is not visible
In the Scroll Area, set the values to the range you require e.g. A2:H500
Click back onto your worksheet and now you will be restricted to movement
within that prescribed range, and pressing Tab or Enter will take you to the
start of the next row after you have entered data in your final column.
