Tab Ruler Problem

Rick

I have always had the horizontal and vertical tab ruler
showing in the "print layout view" until yesterday.

Now the ruler hides behind the left edge and upper edge of
my document. To see the ruler I have to put my cursor at
the edge and wait for it to appear.

I've used the help section, but it provided no help.

Can anyone tell me what to do so I can have both rulers
always visible again? Thanks!

Try putting your cursor at the very top of your page until the "Show white
space" tip shows and your cursor changes. Then click your mouse. Hopefully
that will fix this your problem, which is a very strange feature of Word (I
never really understood what benefit this provides)!

Checking View | Ruler should make the horizontal ruler visible all the time.
Do the same for the vertical ruler by checking the appropriate box on the
View tab of Tools | Options (but note that the vertical ruler is not
displayed in Normal view). And the rulers won't auto hide if you clear the
check box for "Provide feedback with animation" on the General tab of Tools
| Options.
