Strange problem under WinXP with a SoundBlaster Live!
Series soundcard:
When I play music through Windows Media Player,
everything is ok and the sound is played back through the
Soundblaster card and the satelite speakers.
But all the systemsounds are played back on the pc
speaker, instead of through teh soundcard and the
satelite speakers.

I've been through all the settings and couldn't find any
wrong setting.

Does anyone know this problem and the answer to it?

Please help me!!

Patrick.

Start > Control Pannel > Sound and Audio Devices > Audio Tab > make sure
your soundcard is selected as the default devices.

I have the same problem though it is slightly diffrent. I
am not able to play the systemsounds under one user
profile but they play under a diffrent user profile. I
also get a scratch sound when i expect a .wav file to
play.

Try creating a new user and logon to the system, see if
you here the sounds.

If that works you might consider moving you datafiles to
the new :working: profile.

NB: SoundBlaster Live series soundcard and XP is also my
sound hardware and os respectively.
