Systems Resources

How do you find what your systems resources free is in win
xp?

If you are looking for a measurement about system resources that is similar
to the one found in Win95, 98 or ME - you will not find it. Resources are
not a concern in the same sense as they were with those previous versions
of Windows. You will still need to keep an eye on what is being allowed to
run at startup but the goal in the exercise is to avoid software conflicts
instead of managing resources.

Some information is available in taskmanager. This lists what programs
and processes are running, their cpu and memory usage.

You don't, and that's good, not bad.

The term System Resources, in Windows 9x and Me, referred to a
particular data structure that doesn't exist in Windows XP.

That's one of XP's many improvements over 9X. There are no System
Resources to run out of or to be concerned with.
