I have Vista Home Basic. I need to find out how to make a back up disc for my
operating system. When I purchased this pc, it should have told me to make a
back up disc when I first booted up, but it did not. Is there anyway I can
make one at this time? Thank you for your help.

Refer to your computer manual or the computer mftr.'s tech support
website for how to make restore disks. Usually you can make one set of
restore disks - look in your Start Menu under an entry for the computer
mftr. such as "HP>Restore disk creation utility".

Otherwise you can buy an external hard drive and imaging software such
as Acronis True Image.

*If* you can do this, the way to do so is not a Windows function, but
one provided by your computer manufacturer. Contact them for
instructions or look on their web site.

If they don't provide a way to do this, alternatively you can use an
imaging program such as Acronis True Image to make an image of the
current state (not the original state) of your drive.
